Recognisable by its rectangular base and pitched roof, the square shape makes very efficient use of interior space, allowing furniture to fit into corners. Dwarf walls create shelf space for ornaments or lamps. Very popular style indeed.

  Victorian Conservatories Victorian Conservatories:
This popular style conservatory is distinguished by a bay front and pitched roof with ornate ridge detailing. Suitable for most house styles.

  lean-to conservatories Mediteranean-Style Conservatories:
More often known as a lean-to or sun lounge, this style suits properties with limited build space. It's also ideal for locations where the smallest angles of roof pitch are necessary, like a bungalow.

DIY Conservatory FAQ's

Q Will I really save a worthwhile amount of money opting for a DIY Conservatory installation?

A Yes - for a typical 3m x 3m conservatory you could save around £5,000 and because you are spending less, the cost will actually reflect in the value of your home much quicker.

Q I have not done much DIY before, will I be able to fit one of your DIY conservatories?

A The more DIY experience you have the simpler installing one of our DIY conservatories will be. However we believe that even with a fairly basic level of DIY experience you should be able to fit one due to our easy to follow step-by-step instructions.

Q How do I go about measuring up my conservatory?

A Please refer to the measuring up guide for information about this.

Q The specification of your DIY conservatories is far superior to some of those I have seen, how can you afford to sell at these prices?

A DIY Conservatories only sell from the web site. We do not have expensive overheads to support and all the information about our conservatories are available online rather than in expensive marketing material. These savings are reflected in our very competitive prices.

Q I want to personalize my DIY conservatory, can I?

A We here at Cheap DIY Conservatories have a wide range of options to personalize your diy conservatory to suit your tastes. Whether it is glass bevels, extra opening lights, leaded top lights or Georgian crosses or choices of the frame colour and handles, we are sure you will find something to suit your needs.

Q Can I order a specific size conservatory rather than a standard size?

A Yes - All our cheap DIY conservatories are made to order so we can make to any size, providing of course it is technically possible. Simply select the width and projection above your specific sizes and that's the price you will pay.

Q Can I have a glass roof instead of polycarbonate conservatory roof?

A No problem. Unlike some roofs, Our conservatories roofs are structurally capable of carrying the additional weight of glass sealed units. You can choose between clear or tinted glass and we also offer a performance glass option that will help to reduce heat and solar gain.

Q Can I change the position of the DIY conservatory door?

A During the ordering process you will be able to select the position for your conservatory door.

Q If any part is damaged or broken during installation can you supply replacements?

A We endeavour to supply any new parts within 24 hours (subject to availability). We will require payment at time of order.

Q How can I be sure of the quality of a cheap DIY conservatory?

A We only use quality components in the construction of our conservatories. The brand names of Eurocell and Global are synonymous with quality in the window and conservatory trade market and these products are and have been specified on thousands of installations, not just throughout the UK but including the USA and Europe.

Q Can I add another door in my new DIY conservatory?

A Subject to the size and design of the conservatory, adding another door is possible.

Q I cannot find the conservatory design I need can you supply special conservatory designs?

A Our web site covers the most popular conservatory designs but if you have a requirement that is not shown please email us and we will be happy to provide a bespoke conservatory quotation.

Q What should I do about building my conservatory base?

A. You should ideally call in a skilled bricklayer to construct the conservatory base from our brickwork dimensions provided when you order the cheap DIY conservatory. If you have sufficient skills you could always attempt it yourself, but ideally we would recommend using a professional to do the job.

Q What happens if my builder builds the conservatory base slightly out of square?

A The conservatory base and dwarf wall must be accurately constructed for the conservatory to fit properly. It is essential that walls are square to avoid any conservatory installation problems. If you should discover a discrepancy please contact us before attempting installation as we may be able to suggest a cost effective remedy.

Q What do I get when I order the conservatory?

A You are provided with all the conservatory frames, external cills, glass and roof. Each frame is individually made and they screw together to form each side of the conservatory. This gives you the freedom to choose where to place your opening vents and doors at the time of ordering. All fixings are supplied along with our instruction manual giving you clear, easy to understand step-by-step instructions on how to put all of it together to create a conservatory room that will compliment your home.

Q If I break a sealed unit will you supply a replacement?

A Sealed Units should always be handled with care. If a unit is broken during installation we will be happy to supply a replacement.

Q Is the conservatory glass safety glass?

A All our conservatories feature toughened safety glass and each sealed unit is marked accordingly.

Q What maintenance will be required?

A Very little. Regular lubrication of locks and fittings will ensure trouble free operation. Clean the PVC-u profiles periodically with warm soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they will damage the surface finish.

Q Can I specify patterned glass for one side of my conservatory?

A Yes - Any Pilkington's obscure glass can be specified at no extra cost. Be sure to include your requirements in the notes section of your order.

Q Will I require planning permission for my conservatory?

A Only your local planning office can confirm your situation. Generally there is no requirement for planning permission in England and Wales but you should confirm this with your local authority prior to commencing any work.
